
Over 175 exhibitors, 300 trade delegations, and 18,000 visitors to converge in Pune across 11,000 square metres of exhibition space for a showcase of manufacturing excellence
Pune, India, 7 September 2026: Pune Machine Tool Expo (PMTX) 2026 along with co-located Factory Equipment Expo (FACTEQ) 2026, organised by Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) was inaugurated todayat Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre (PIECC), Moshi, Pune, in the presence of senior government officials and industry leaders.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman, Tata AutoComp Systems Limited; Ms. MohiniKelkar, President – IMTMA, Mr. Vikram Salunke, VicePresident – IMTMA and Mr. Jibak Dasgupta, DG & CEO – IMTMA shared the dais at the inauguration.
Guest of Honour, Mr. Goel stressed on local manufacturing.He said India’s growing manufacturing ecosystem offerssignificant opportunities for the machine tool industry. India will be one of the key focuses for the growth which is expected year after year. Highlighting the need for greaterdomestic capability, Goel added, one cannot depend on hugeimports of machine tools and urged the industry to build astronger manufacturing base within India. He called upon the machine tool industry to be at-least third largest manufacturer in the world.
Speaking about IMTMA’s decision to organise the expo atPune, Ms. Kelkar said, “Maharashtra has one of India’s strongest machine tool ecosystems with important industrial clusters located in Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik andKolhapur. Pune being one of the strong base for automotive and engineering companies, it demands a huge amount of high precision manufacturing technologies which are catered by the machine tool industry. IMTMA has a strong presence in Maharashtra with around 180 members and for last two decades, the Association has been extending support to industries through various initiatives.”
Adding to Ms. Kelkar’s views, Mr. Jibak Dasgupta, DirectorGeneral & CEO – IMTMA said, “Pune being a stronghold for various manufacturing industries, IMTMA is organising PMTX and FACTEQ to reach out to the manufacturing community in the region. The shows are growing significantly with every edition and we are seeing a great enthusiasm from both manufacturers and users of machine tool.”
