Symbiosis Skills and Professional University Organizes Induction Programme for Academic Year 2025–26

Pune, 16 July 2025 – Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) organized an Induction Programme for the academic year 2025–26, which received an enthusiastic response from students and parents alike. Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor of SSPU, welcomed the students to the new academic year. Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Brigadier Viresh, Director, Regional Technology Node (RTN), Southern Command Headquarters; Sushil Kumar, Global Head and Vice President, Tata Technologies; and alumni Atharva Raje and Soham Chavan.

Welcoming the new batch, Dr. Swati Mujumdar said, “I am delighted to welcome the students for the academic year 2025–26. SSPU is a university dedicated to skill-based education. Our curriculum is structured with 70% practical learning and 30% theory, which helps ensure 100% placement opportunities for students. The university has also earned an NIRF ranking. We offer industry internships that allow students to discover their interests and aptitudes in real-world environments. The Interdisciplinary School of Science enables students to explore their hidden talents and skills, helping them choose unique career paths. Our international collaborations open doors to global exposure through student exchange programmes, creating access to global professional opportunities and pathways for higher studies.”

She further emphasized, “As this is a skill-based education model, students must maintain consistent class attendance. The university provides extended lab access so students can better prepare for a bright future.”

On this occasion, alumni Atharva Raje and Soham Chavan were felicitated.

Sharing his journey, Atharva Raje said, “The skills I learned during my academic life here helped me launch three companies. The greatest benefit of studying at a skill university is that I learned how to apply those skills in real life, and SSPU made that possible.”

Soham Chavan, speaking about his experience, said, “The moment I joined Symbiosis Skills University, I knew I was in the right place. I realized the importance of setting clear goals. Apply what you learn in real life. Pay attention in class, understand new concepts deeply, and make lots of friends — these things will pave the way for your future.”

Brigadier Viresh, Director of RTN, Southern Command, addressed the students saying, “College is your launch pad—it’s where your bright future begins. Don’t come here just to pass exams, come to discover new paths. Step out of your comfort zone, stay hungry for knowledge, and learn beyond the curriculum. Self-discipline is vital. Stay honest with whatever you do. How you behave when no one is watching is your true character. Failure is part of success—don’t be discouraged by it. Becoming self-reliant is a big responsibility, so focus on building your own future.”

Sushil Kumar, Global Head and VP at Tata Technologies, remarked, “Education needs to evolve with time. In today’s world, we need more job creators than job seekers. Build a strong network of friends, choose a subject of interest, and study it deeply. Use these four years to change your future. Take bold decisions and work hard to make them right.”
